My name is Ms. McIlwain, and I’m so excited to be joining the Oakview community this year! I was born at the Little Rock Air Force Base in Jacksonville, Arkansas, and had the unique experience of growing up both in the U.S. and abroad as a proud military child.

I earned my Bachelor of Science in Education from the University of Central Arkansas (Go Bears!), majoring in Early Childhood Education. I later completed both a Master of Science in Education Degree (Reading) and an Educational Specialist Degree (Educational Leadership K–12) through Northwest Missouri State University.

Over the past 14 years, I’ve taught Kindergarten, First Grade, and worked with Multilingual Learners in grades K–5. This school year marks my 15th year in education and my first as an Oakview Owl—an opportunity for which I'm truly grateful.

As a teacher, my goal is to create a warm and engaging learning environment where every child feels valued, supported, and inspired to grow. I look forward to partnering with you to help your child have a successful and joyful year!
