Behavior Management

We Are a Classroom Family!

Always listen when others are talking.

Always follow directions the first time.

Always be kind to others

Always be safe.  Keep hands and feet to yourself.

Always try your best.

At the beginning of the school year, we take time to talk about and practice our classroom expectations together. These are simple, age-appropriate rules that help us create a safe, happy, and productive learning environment. We also review them throughout the year to help everyone stay on track.

To encourage positive behavior, students can earn fun rewards like a positive note home, stickers, getting to be “Teacher for the Day,” choosing their seat for the day, receiving our special Superstar Cone, and more!

Students earn these rewards by filling up a punch card. Each time they show great behavior, they get a hole punch. Once they collect 10 punches, they get to choose a fun reward as a celebration of their hard work!

If a behavior ever does become a concern—especially if it’s affecting learning or others—I’ll let you know with a phone call or a note home. I do my best to handle things reasonably, as well as fairly, in the classroom, but I’ll always keep you in the loop if something needs your attention.

I will consistently maintain open and honest communication between school and home. Please don’t ever hesitate to reach out with questions or concerns.  I’m thrilled to partner with you on your child’s 1st grade journey!
