I aM MS. Fernandez

Hi! My name is Katie Fernandez and I am from Auburndale, Florida. I moved to Greenville in the summer of 2023 to teach art at our amazing Hollis Academy!

My family lives in Greenville, so it is great being close to them! My brother is a teacher at Berea High School while my sister works for Furman University so education is in the family.

The 25-26 school year is my ninth year as an art teacher. I have also taught art classes, spring break camps, and summer camps for the Polk Museum of Art in Lakeland, Florida.

I have a 7th grade son who is a student at Beck Academy and who inspires me to do what I do!

A Little More about me...

I am not just an art teacher but an artist too! I often participate in local art shows and exhibitions and sometimes I even sell some of my artwork! Students will see some of my own paintings in the Art room hanging on the walls. I hope my own art inspires my students to be proud of all their creations!

In my spare time, I enjoy doing art (duh, lol) and also writing and reading. I like to spend time with my son playing games, and the rest of family by having BBQ's and movie nights.

I love the beach, swimming, and getting ice cream on a hot day.

But most of all, I love teaching art!
