Hello! My name is Mrs. Mullenax, and I am so excited to be the student teacher in Ms. Darnell’s first grade class for the fall semester! I am originally from Charleston, West Virginia, but I have lived in Greenville, South Carolina, for the past six years. I am currently studying Early Childhood Education at USC Upstate and will graduate in December 2025.
I have always loved interacting with children and being a part of their learning and growth. Some of my favorite subjects to teach are English Language Arts, reading, and science—I love helping students discover the joy of books, stories, and exploring the world around them through science!
A little about me: I’ve been married for three years, and my husband and I have two playful dogs (a German Shepherd and a Dalmatian), a feisty calico cat, and a baby boy on the way, due in January 2026! When I’m not in the classroom, I enjoy spending time at home with my family, going on trips to visit loved ones, and taking vacation adventures together. My favorite things include the color purple, Mexican food, my family, and of course, my dogs.
This semester, I’m most excited to learn as much from the students as they learn from me. I can’t wait to watch them grow, explore, and accomplish new things in first grade. My hope is to help make this year full of curiosity, confidence, and joy in learning.
