I am a highly qualified teacher in GCS. I have taught for 30 years and have enjoyed every moment. I have a BA in Elementary and Early Childhood, a Masters in Administration and Elementary Education. My certifications include these areas in addition to Special Education, Middle School and Administration at the primary and Secondary level. In 2019 I was selected as Teacher of the Year b y the Berea Lions Club. I was a finalist for the BOLD Educator of the Year for 2024. I have held my current position is EDSC for the last 8 years. I have a rate 95% of my students returning to general education or moving into less restrictive environments. I feel that teaching is beyond academics. It’s about building relationships and looking at what a student can be and not simply where they are in the present. The success of any classroom also depends on relationships beyond the class. Parent support helps me bring out the potential in my students as I cannot do it alone.
My name is Vicki Mccoy. I have been married to my husband for 27 years and we have two children. I worked as a nurse until their birth and then decided to stay home with them. I homeschooled both of them. My daughter went back to school in the ninth grade and I started working as a substitute for Greenville county. I never knew that I would enjoy working with children so much and my love for being with them, teaching them, loving them, and being there for them drew me to take a long-term sub position with Ms. Edith Alston. After being in her class for one day I knew that working with these children was my hearts desire. I love each and every one of my students and feel so blessed by God everyday for giving me the opportunity to be here every day.
