Required Supplies

Students need a composition notebook, pen/pencil, and charged chromebook in class each day. I provide folders, colored pencils, markers, glue sticks, and other materials for use by all students.

About Humanities Exploratory 8: Global Challenges

This course will engage students in the study of contemporary global challenges experienced by all societies. The course focuses on the "big problems" countries are currently facing. Many problems require students to engage in inter-disciplinary learning, bringing together historical context, scientific understandings, mathematical facts, and then communicating those findings in written and verbal presentations. The course will also focus on critical literacy skills, providing students with explicit instruction in understanding complicated texts, note-taking, summarizing, finding evidence, and written communciation.
