Biology is an EOC (End of Course) class. This means that students will be required to take an End of Course test provided by the State Board of Education at the end of the semester. The test will count for 20% of the student’s final grade. Our goal for this course is to prepare students to have a successful outcome when taking the Biology EOC at the end of the semester. Throughout this course, we will cover all of the standards listed on the State Board of Education’s website for Biology Standards under the College and Career Readiness standards of 2021.

Honors students will be required to complete a cumulative portfolio in addition to the EOC Exam that illustrates and includes materials that demonstrate the student’s mastery of each subject unit covered in this Biology course. In this course, the portfolio will be completed through the engineering, monitoring, and data collection of a sustainable ecosystem. The project culminates in a poster presentation at the end of the semester to showcase the experience.
