5th year at Blue Ridge High School
In 2017, after some time working on small farms and in local food systems around the United States, I spent a semester substitute teaching four levels of science at a school in the Dominican Republic. It was there that I discovered what a joy it is to share what I love-- learning about the natural world, humanity's scientific pursuits & innovations, and how to take care of our place on this planet. After that experience, I made it my goal to get back into the classroom and teach again.
In 2021 I finished my master's of secondary science education from Auburn University (AL). In that program I interned in an Anatomy & Physiology classroom and collaborated with a professor to write and illustrate a workbook outlining spatial thinking activities in STEM classrooms.
