Welcome! I am excited to be your child's fourth grade teacher this year at Ellen Woodside Elementary . It is truly a privilege and an honor to work with such an amazing team of students, families, and educators!
As your child's fourth grade teacher, I will utilize supportive tools and resources that will guide, encourage, and enable every student to build upon their experiences and strengths. Together, as a team, we will continue to utilize instructional practices that support, engage, and challenge all students academically.
I graduated from Indiana University with a B.S. degree in Elementary Education with a Middle School Language Arts endorsement and a Reading Coach endorsement. I have also earned my M.S. Degree in Educational Leadership and Supervision (K-12) from Indiana University.
In my nineteen years as an educator, I have taught 1st-6th grades in the elementary setting, and 6th-8th grade language arts in the middle school setting. I also have experiences serving as an Instructional Coach and Literacy Specialist in the elementary and middle school settings.
On a personal note, I have two children: Alyshia (26) and Conner (18). Alyshia serves as a Medical Lab Scientist and Conner loves programming and running cross country and track. We love spending time together enjoying the outdoors, watching movies, and traveling to new places.
I am so excited to be in the classroom with your fourth grader this year! I love working and learning with students. I know we are going to have a wonderful year together full of new adventures and lots of learning!
