eLearning Guidelines
Beginning in 2020, GCS has the option of declaring eLearning days when weather or road conditions threaten safety. This allows instruction to continue remotely, even though students and teachers are not physically present in our schools.
Students will have 5 days to complete eLearning work before being marked absent for the day.
In the event that we have an eLearning day, students will go to our Homeroom Google Classroom.
I will have a Meet link appear around 7:55 a.m.. Our first Google Meet of the day will be at 8:00 a.m. We'll go over any ELA-R work (spelling/phonics, vocabulary, grammar, reading, writing). The link for the Meet will go away about 8:25 a.m.
We will have a second Google Meet at 10:00 a.m. This will cover math and any science or social studies work for the day.
Students are expected to attend Google Meets to get credit for attendance as well as completing work.
Typically, related arts will hold their own Google Meet as well as Mrs. Cummings, Mrs. Hendrich, Mrs. Rabe, and Ms. Ward and Ms. Parsons.
If a student needs any help, they can always send me a comment through assignments in the Google Classroom, an email to LySanders@greenvilleschools.us or LySanders@greenville.k12.sc.us, or a Seesaw message. On eLearning days, if you call (864) 355-4258, please leave a message. I will get an email with voicemail, but I will not be at the school to answer the phone. Parents/guardians can call (864) 373-0330. Again, please leave a message so I know who is calling and what a student needs assistance with.
