Dear Parents,

I am so excited to have your child in my class this year and I look forward to working with you! Our class assistant is Miss Kimberly Evans.

Our overall goal in kindergarten is to improve children's understanding of the world and to strengthen their desire to continue learning. Appropriate, intellectually challenging learning opportunities are planned to help students meet state and district learner standards in language arts, math, social studies, science, physical development, the arts, and personal/social development.

The children will have homework beginning in September. Homework builds responsibility and helps the children practice what they're learning in school. All homework is due each Friday. I will also assign some fun projects during the year for you and your child to do together.

Once binders start coming home, please help us by checking your child's Daily G.A.T.O.R. Binder each night and sending it back to school each day. We will send home a Behavior Sheet to keep you updated on your child's behavior and you will initial it and return it in the Daily Binder. Any money/notes that you send to school need to be placed in the money pouch in the front of the binder with your child's name and what the money is for. Please put all of your child's papers from home in the binder to send back to school. If papers or money are in the children's book bags, we may not find them because the children unpack their own book bags.

We are looking forward to teaching your child, watching them grow, and working with you this year. Please feel free to email or send a note in your child's binder any time you have a question. You may also call the school and leave us a voicemail. Thank you in advance for your help and support!

Sincerely,

Ann Owens

Kimberly Evans
