My name is Jennifer Minton, and I’m thrilled to begin my third year at Fountain Inn High School and my fifth year teaching at the secondary level. This year, I’m teaching AP U.S. History, AP U.S. Government and Politics, Honors Government, and Honors Economics. It's exciting to continue growing my career at a school that’s expanding and evolving alongside its students and staff!
Before joining the team at FIHS, I taught at a regional charter school in Greenville from 2022–2023. I also spent several years teaching in Virginia with Newport News Public Schools and the Virginia Department of Education’s VirtualVA program. Prior to transitioning into secondary education, I taught at the university level and continue to be passionate about deep content knowledge and engaging instruction.
I hold a Bachelor of Arts in History and East Asian Studies from DePauw University (2008) and a Master of Arts in History and Thought from the University of Galway (2011). I also hold AP endorsements in U.S. History, Human Geography, and AP US Government and Politics. I also have my Gifted and Talented endorsement and have been working on entry into a Ph.D. program in History.
I was raised in a small farming town outside of Chicago in northwest Indiana. After college, I traveled the world—spending extended time in Japan and Ireland—before eventually moving to Florida, where I met my husband, Nathan. We’ve since made our way back to his hometown of Greenville, settling here in 2022. Nathan graduated from Riverside High School and Clemson University with a degree in engineering.
Together, we have three wonderful children: Emma Clare (9), a student at Mauldin Elementary and member of Team Greenville; Sophia (4), who’s eager to follow in her big sister’s footsteps; and our energetic toddler, Elias (2), who is loving life as a little brother! Our home is also shared with our two dogs, Monster and Misses, and our playful cats, Akiko and Po.
I’m looking forward to another great year at FIHS—go Fury!
