Dress Like a Book Character
We are excited to have students celebrate their favorite books by dressing up as a favorite book character! Costumes can be simple and creative – there is no need to go all out. Please choose a costume that is comfortable, safe and easy for your child to manage independently. They need to be able to use the bathroom independently. We can not wait to see all of our favorite book characters!
Jackets and Outdoor Recess
Cooler weather is here- we go outside for recess rain or shine.
Please write your name in your child’s jacket and help them practice putting on and zipping their jacket independently.
Letters: We have covered: Aa, Bb, Cc, Dd, and Ee. Please practice identifying and writing these letters with your child at home.
A letter-formation sheet is attached. It shows how to form each letter step-by-step.
Handwriting
Coloring check: Have your child color one picture and gently check whether they are holding crayons correctly. Praise effort and progress.
Pencil hold tip: Encourage the “tripod” grip — hold the pencil with the thumb and index finger while the pencil rests on the middle finger.
“Pinch the pencil, rest on three, thumb and finger, it’s comfy as can be!”
These small routines help build fine motor skills and confidence—thank you for practicing with your child!
