The resources classes currently consist on average between 2 to 8 students per class. By having smaller class sizes allows the students to work more effectively with fewer distractions. The majority of the teaching is through direct instruction curriculums using hands-on activities, manipulatives, and games to practice key concepts. The are paper and pencil activities will be used as a means of assessing retention of skills learned through progress monitoring.
This year I will be providing behavior support services Check-in/out to individual students in either the general education setting. The students will have instruction on growth mindset and learn behavioral strategies to apply in their everyday lives while others may have check-ins and check-outs to set their goals for the day and did they meet the goal they set.
