 Assessment Procedures

 

The students who are assigned to this class have an Individualized Education Plan and have exhibited discrepancies between aptitude and achievement. Evaluation data, formal assessments, and informal assessments are used to develop annual IEPs with appropriate goals. An individual criterion for the mastery of each goal is included in the IEP,  as are methods by which mastery will be assessed. In addition to academic requirements, all students must meet the attendance policy requirements of the district.

 

All students will participate in state and district assessment according to grade level. Students that qualify for accommodations on these tests will be required to receive the accommodations in their classroom daily.

 

Reporting to parents will occur quarterly through progress reports. IEP meetings will be scheduled annually, unless additional meetings are requested. Parents will receive Notification of Meetings for IEP Meetings. Goals on the IEP will be progress monitored and  student’s progress will be provided to their parent/guardian. Evaluations to measure progress will include curriculum-based assessments and observations.
