IB History of the Americas

Course Description:

This course completes the Group 3 (Individuals and Societies) requirement for the I.B. Diploma and is a study of history from an international perspective.

The subjects for the course fall under the following categories:

Paper 1: Prescribed Subject Three:  The Move to Global War

Paper 2: 

Topic Ten:  Authoritarian states (20th century) 

Topic Eleven: Causes and Effects of 20th Century Wars

Paper 3: Two 20th Century World History Topics

Topic Twelve: The Great Depression and the Americas 

Topic Thirteen: The Second World War and the Americas

Course Outline for year two:          

First Semester

The Move to Global War 

Authoritarian States 

Cause and Effect of 20th Century wars

Second Semester

Causes and Effects of 20th Century Wars 

The Great Depression and the Americas

The First and Second World War and the Americas

Assignments missed due to an excused absence can still receive full credit if turned in within the proper amount of time.  Assignments missed due to an unexcused absence will have 50% credit one day late and a zero after that.
