About Me

Hello! 

My name is Curtis Smith. I am a Civics and Psych/Sociology teacher in my 6th year teaching at GHS, and I am excited to be a part of this great tradition at GHS. I was formerly a history teacher in Laurens District 55 at Sanders Middle School. I was born and raised in Maryville, TN, but have lived in the Greenville area for 29 years. I am a graduate of USC Upstate Class of 2017, Magna Cum Laude, with a Bachelors in Secondary Education. 

In my free time I like to spend time with my family. I have an amazing wife with three adorable little girls that are ages 15, 13, and "Surprise" 4. Along with my family activities I enjoy college football in the Fall. My favorite team is the University of Tennessee, "Go Vols!!!" I am a huge Star Wars fan, "May the Force be With You!!" I love all things Disney. My favorite movie is Beauty and the Beast. I love to travel with my family. Some of the cool places I have been are the Swiss Alps, Paris, Rome, Jamaica, Bermuda, Hawaii, Fanning Island, Mexico, Yellowstone, and the Grand Tetons. I have now visited 32 of the 50 states. Lastly, I am an assistant deacon at my church and enjoy volunteering at the church when possible.
