*Intro to Fitness Testing
**Fitness Testing
Physical Education classes begin in work out positions consisting of warm up activities that include running in place at different speeds, high knees/ankle kicks, jumping jacks, squats, and jumping to different locations. The warm up is followed by stretching to improve students flexibility. We conclude warm up activities with push ups, sit ups, and curl ups to improve students overall strength.
Warm up is followed by locomotor movements that consist of running, skipping, sliding, jumping, galloping, hopping, walking. These locomotor patterns are performed at different speeds and in combination. Locomotor patterns are performed across the gymnasium or to music for the younger students.
Additional warm ups include exercise/warm up stations, pilates, yoga, and cardiovascular games.
