Lock Down

If outside, move quickly and safely inside the building

Remain inside the building until cleared to exit by the administration and/or emergency personnel

Continue to move inside the building as normal, but be aware of and report anyone attempting to gain access to the building

Do not open exterior doors for ANY reason

Be prepared to lock down in the event that the threat gains entry into the building

Move into a classroom or closet with a door that can be locked

All doors are left in the locked position, even if the doors are open

Enter an open room and close the locked door behind you, making sure it is secure

use furniture or any other items available to barricade the entry way

Move out of sight, but be prepared to fight an assailant should the need arise--Chairs and other improvised weapons may be used

Remain hidden until cleared by law enforcement

We will NEVER activate the fire alarm during a lockdown. If the fire alarm is engaged, ignore it and do not exit unless there is evidence of actual fire
