About Me

Hello, and thank you so much for coming to my site!

My name is Tyler Holbrook and I am the social studies teacher for Team 6:1. This is my third year at Blue Ridge Middle School and I am very much looking forward to having the best year ever as we navigate World History!

While this is an "about me" section, I would be remiss to not mention the best part of me which is my family! I have an amazing wife Kayla, who is a children's minister, and two daughters. Lillian is ten and is heavily involved in travel softball, currently playing for Carolina Thunder 10u. Madeline is six and loves all things gymnastics and will be competing at level 2 in the winter. She is also a huge Florida Gators fan as well as pretty much a fan of anything that involves the state of Florida. 

I am originally from Virginia, but have been lucky enough to call South Carolina home for the past thirteen years. The reason I love being at BRMS is because it reminds me so much of the community I grew up in back in Virginia. When I am not teaching I am outdoors, on a ballfield helping coach my oldest daughter, or just spending time with my family.

I received my bachelor's degree in History from Liberty University. I am passionate about teaching and meeting students where they are in life while encouraging them to achieve the best they possibly can while creating a fun and engaging environment! I love all things history related and believe that only through the study of history can we fully realize where we have come from and where we are going.
