Hello, and thank you so much for coming to my site!
My name is Tyler Holbrook and I am the social studies teacher for Team 7-. This is my fifth year teaching and my first at Ralph Chandler Middle School. Before RCMS, I taught social studies at Blue Ridge Middle School where I also served as department chair, head softball coach, and Student Council sponsor. I very much look forward to bringing these leadership skills with me to Ralph Chandler.
Enough about myself though! The best part "about me" is my family. I have an amazing wife of fifteen years and two daughters. My oldest is heavily involved in travel softball, coached by Clemson softball alum/now UNCG assistant coach, JoJo Hyatt and plays for Carolina Elite playing primarily at catcher. My youngest loves all things gymnastics and will be competing at level 4 in the winter. Her first two years competing were super successful, most recently claiming first at SC state meet on bars. She is a huge Florida Gators fan.
I am originally from Virginia, but have been lucky enough to call South Carolina home for the past fifteen years. When I am not teaching I am outdoors, on a ballfield helping coach my oldest daughter, or just spending time with my family.
I received my bachelor's degree in History from Liberty University. I am passionate about teaching and meeting students where they are in life while encouraging them to achieve the best they possibly can while creating a fun and engaging environment! As I often tell my softball players hard work and commitment are skills that will take you far in life and I bring this mantra to the classroom as well. If you work hard and are committed in my class, there is no way that you will not succeed in the long run! I love all things history and believe that only through the study of history and different cultures can we fully realize where we have come from and where we are going in order to build a successful future.
