Retakes are for MAJOR assessments only.
Students who score below an 85/B on *most MAJOR assessments will have the opportunity to complete a new test. In order to take advantage of this opportunity, students need to complete the following requirements (in order) in the time allotted:
1. Complete test corrections. If you need help with this, please sign up for office hours. (Office hours sign-up is located in the classroom. Please do not email me to sign up. Space is limited and is on a first come, first served basis.)
2. Complete 3 activities to improve understanding and prepare for the retake. If you need help with identifying activities or securing materials, please email me or see me during office hours.
3. Sign up for office hours. You need the date you are planning to attend OH for the Google Form in Requirement #4. (Office hours sign-up is located in the classroom. Please do not email me to sign up. Space is limited and is on a first come, first served basis.)
4. Complete the Google Form. Please email me after submitting the Google Form so I know it has been completed.
5. Attend your office hour session with Ms. Porterfield. You will need to bring:
Completed test corrections
Work/documentation of the 3 activities you completed independently.
6. Sign up for office hours to complete the retake.
▶️ Students will have 1 week from when tests have been returned to complete steps 1-5, unless other arrangements have been approved by the teacher.
▶️ Students will NOT be eligible to retake any major assessment if he/she does not complete all of the requirements and/or if the student has any missing assignments (including homework) within the unit.
▶️ The test and retest will be averaged together, with a maximum score of 85%.
*Students will not have the opportunity to retake take-home or open notes tests.
