My name is Monti Galloway-Smith and I am excited about teaching your child. Pictured above are my amazing family, Jeff and Amanda! I have been married to Jeff for 36 years and Amanda is 35. We moved to Greenville 24 years ago from Reno, Nevada. Jeff works at Michelin and Amanda attends Active Day of Greer. She attended Sara Collins, Mauldin Middle, and JL Mann.

We have 2 little dogs named Diesel and Dottie! 

I have had many careers in my lifetime. I was a hairstylist for seven years until Amanda was born. She was very sick and had multiple disabilities, and I needed to stay home with her until she was five. At that time I opened a cleaning business, which I had until we were transferred to South Carolina. I had the opportunity to go to school and was able to choose what I wanted to do when I grew up!  So I went to school when I was in my 40's  and received my Bachelors of Science in Special Education.  I have taught in many settings, including; resource, inclusion and this is my 8th year teaching in the multi-categorical self-contained classroom. 

I love South Carolina. and living in the Upstate.  I enjoy watching birds in my spare time and being in nature. I collect aliens, rocks and suns. 

Some of my favorite things are: Almond Joys, jelly beans, and peanut butter cups. I love Starbucks and my favorite restaurant is Papas and Beers. 

This is my 17th year teaching at Hillcrest Middle and I love it. I not only love teaching my students, I love what they teach me everyday.
