Weightlifting


This class will involve introductory active participation in total-body strength training, physical fitness, and conditioning activities. Class activities include: weight lifting, agility training, plyometric training, variable implement training, core (torso) training, cardiovascular training, and conditioning activities. Students will spend time actively engaged in a wide variety of strength training and conditioning activities. Students will demonstrate knowledge and understanding of proper strength training fundamentals, conditioning concepts and knowledge and understanding of basic human strength training anatomy. Students will demonstrate the ability to perform proper multiple-joint and single-joint lifting techniques. Students will demonstrate the ability to perform proper spotting techniques.
