dismissal procedure

  • Early dismissals should only be sent in on the day of the dismissal

  • Early dismissals must be in writing - preferably in email; handwritten notes must be brought in before the bell rings at 8:45

  • Emails must be received by 2:00 or they will not be processed; the parent will have to come in to sign the student out



Early Dismissal requests MUST include:

  • Student Name (First & Last) and Grade

  • Time of Dismissal (no later than 3:30)

  • Parent/Guardian contact phone #

NO WALK-IN DISMISSALS AFTER 3:00

Other important information

  • All students - regardless of age - must have a dismissal request from a parent/guardian

  • Students are counted present if they are in attendance for 1/2 of a class so plan your early dismissals accordingly.

  • We strongly encourage early dismissals to take place during class changes to avoid disruption to instructional time. Please refer to the bell schedule.

  • Please be courteous and give the attendance clerks advance notice of early dismissals. If you send a last minute dismissal request please call the attendance office to let us know. Otherwise we may not see the email and may not be able to process the request in a timely manner.

  • All early dismissal requests will be verified by phone so please be available to answer the phone call. If you will not be available to answer a phone call please call the attendance office to verify.

  • Once an early dismissal is verified the student will receive an email in their student email account. THIS IS THEIR PASS TO LEAVE THE BUILDING. Students should have the email ready to show to the attendance clerks before they leave the building.

  • PARENTS DO NOT HAVE TO COME INTO THE BUILDING TO GET THEIR STUDENT ONCE THE EARLY DISMISSAL IS VERIFIED

  • Parents/Guardians must show ID and must be on the students BackPack when walking in to pick up a student
