Metals + Enameling
Visual Art department
Watch this brief video of Metals Instructor Katy Cassell introducing herself to students for the 2020-2021 school year.
The Metals Studio is fully equipped with torches for soldering, enameling kilns, rolling mill, drill press, shears, buffing machine, electroforming tank, hammers and stakes, bending brake, casting equipment, patinas, etching area, documentation set up, library, and computers for digital design and editing images. Primary materials will include copper, brass, nickel, sterling silver, and occasionally steel and aluminum. Each student is assigned a lockable jeweler's bench with a complete set of hand tools, including saws, files, pliers, and safety glasses.
The studio is on par or with college-level institutions, as is the curriculum and student work created.
