Meet Ms. Mercurio

In 2nd grade, I decided I wanted to be a counselor when I grew up.   For me, school counseling is a dedication to advocate for the equality, well-being, and academic opportunities for all students.  After graduating from the University of Central Florida with a Master's Degree in School Counseling & Mental Health Therapy, I started my career as a school guidance counselor in 2001 in Orlando, Florida .  I have also served as a school counselor and teacher in Chicago Public Schools in Illinois, Denver Public Schools in Colorado, Charleston County Schools in South Carolina, and now in Greenville County Schools.  Prior to joining the Alexander Elementary School team, I was a school counselor for 3 years at Southside High School.  I have worked with students from Pre-K to 21-years as a school counselor, school-based special education director, special education resource teacher, and college & career advisory teacher.
