Welcome to the 2026–2027 School Year! I’m so excited to be your School Counselor this year for Kindergarten, 1st Grade, and 3rd Grade!

🐼 Meet Ms. Shaw!

One of my favorite things about working at Plain is that Miss Garner and I “loop” with our grade levels. That means we get to stick with you year after year, watch you learn and grow, and celebrate all of the amazing things you accomplish along the way—all the way until you’re ready for Middle School!

Plain has been a very special place for me for many years. Before becoming the School Counselor, I worked at Plain for 8 years as the Mental Health Counselor. I’m so thankful that I’ve been able to continue serving our Plain Panda family in a different role!

I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Columbia College, my Master’s Degree in Counseling with an emphasis in Mental Health from Webster University, and my Post-Graduate Certificate in School Counseling from Winthrop University.

A Little About Me…

Outside of school, I’m a mom to my sweet and outgoing daughter, Lyrik Grace. We love, eating ice cream at the Ice Cream Station, going to the beach, and making special memories together.

When I have free time, I enjoy reading, watching my favorite shows, spending time with family and friends, and hanging out with Lyrik Grace.
