About me

Welcome to my website!  My name is Leila Tyler, and I am originally from New York.  Growing up with two teachers as parents, I knew at a young age that I would also go into teaching!  I graduated from SUNY Plattsburgh with a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education. After graduation, I decided to enter into a Masters Degree program at Adelphi University in the field of Special Education.  Following in my parents' footsteps, was very simple because they were amazing role models for me.  This is my 26th year teaching. I have worked at Monaview Elementary School, West Greenville School, and Wade Hampton. This is my 10th year at Wade Hampton.

 In 1995, I married my college boyfriend and moved to Greenville.  We have two wonderful sons who keep us very busy with sports and activities.  In 2017, we were blessed with a puppy named Barry. I enjoy playing board games, going on hikes, walking around my neighborhood with my friends, and going on vacations. 

This year, my students will be participating in a new School Based Business which is Kids in the Kommunity.  This business will cater to the needs of the people within our community.  The students will by creating and selling different seasonal items.  Look for more information soon!
