Congratulations Honor Band & 8th Grade Orchestra
Congratulations to both the Lakeview Middle School Honor Band and 8th Grade Orchestra on their "Excellent" ratings at Concert Performance Assessment this past week. Lakeview's orchestra has consistently received this rating. This is the first "Excellent" rating for Lakeview's band in 20 years. Congrats to all of the students on their hard work!

LMS Lion Band Receives "Excellent" Rating
LMS Lion Band Receives "Excellent" Rating
For the first time in 19 years the Lakeview Middle School received a rating of "Excellent" at an adjudicated event. This was also the Lion Band's FIRST EVER trip to Carowinds. We are proud of the many "firsts" these students were apart of this weekend and appreciate their hard work in achieving this! GO LIONS!

The Lakeview Middle School Band Spring Concert will be on Tuesday, May 15th from 6:30-7:30PM at Lakeview Middle School.
- Students arrive to the band room at 6PM
- Students should be dressed in CONCERT ATTIRE: white button-down shirt, black pants, black socks and shoes, and black belt.
- There will be awards and TONS of great music!
Parents, show your support by wearing Lakeview colors: Orange and Blue!

Congratulations to the Lakeview Middle School Honor Band on a great performance at Southside High School for Pre-CPA. The Honor Band represented themselves and Lakeview well. There is alot of work to be done between now and CPA, so start practicing!

Congrats to the 7th/8th grade Lakeview Lion Band on their successful performances on our recent Elementary School Tour and LMS Assembly Performance! It's been a wonderful year. More information to come on our spring Carowinds trip in January.

- Forms/Money Due: Friday Sept. 15th BEFORE 8:30AM - Band Handbook Statement of Responsibility; Instrument Rental/Intention Form; Rental Money if using school instrument.
- Fundraiser Money Due: Tuesday Sept. 19th BEFORE 8:30AM
- Band vs. Orchestra Kickball Kickoff! - Thursday Sept. 28th from 4:30-6:00PM. Free to all music students. Drinks and Freeze Pops provided.

Welcome New and Returning Lion Band Members!
We are looking forward to a successful and fun year. New band members should check out the 6th Grade tab. The Lakeview Music Department will hold its Parent Meeting on Tuesday September 5th from 5:30-6:30PM. All students should be in attendance with at least one parent present. Attendance at this meeting is required before a student will be allowed to use an instrument in class. Anyone unable to attend should contact Mr. Helms immediately.
There are a number of extra performance opportunities and trips taking place this year, so buckle up!

Lakeview Band Receives Elks Lodge Grant!
The Lakeview Middle School Lion Band received a grant from Elks Lodge #848 and The Music Club of Greenville to purchase new percussion equipment, rhythm books, and new concert music. Thank you, Elks Lodge and The Music Club of Greenville!
