More About Me

My name is Kristina Alexander (aka Ms. Mitros), and I teach 1st grade at Bryson Elementary School.  I live in Mauldin, SC, with my best girl, Caroline! 🐶 I have a master's degree in Early Childhood Education from Converse College and an undergraduate degree in Journalism from the University of South Carolina.  I love teaching my students, especially learning fun strategies that help us read all kinds of texts, write and share stories, get outside to play and make observations, study our shadows and the phases of the moon, and solve math problems together!  I love it when my students ask questions, share their thinking, and we work as a team to find the answers. 

I love spending time with my family and singing, whenever I can, especially as part of the music ministry at The Forge.  I enjoy supporting the University of South Carolina women's basketball team!  Caroline and I love going on trips together, taking walks, cooking yummy meals, and snuggling; of course. 🥰 What a joy to meet new students each year, discover all of our talents and gifts, and make the most of what we have every day to grow, share our feelings, and learn new things!
