-The day he buried his pa, Nobe Chase lost everything-his father, his home, and his dog, Rex. Worst of all, he had to move into town to live with Sheriff Leonard-dog killer, wife stealer, and secret law-breaker of all sorts. That day, Nobe found a new purpose for his life-revenge. Hate takes over his life, burning out of control inside him. Nobe learns how dangerous hate can be when it is unleashed in a fury of fire and gunpowder during a race riot in nearby Tulsa. When the violence spills over into his hometown, Nobe must decide what kind of man he is going to become-one driven by vengeance or one driven by courage.
A Long Walk To Water teaches about water conditions in South Sudan, Africa. The story is told from two perspectives, a girl named Nya and a boy named Salva. The reader follows the story of Salva and Nya's journey through Sudan with little water, and little family.

The novel explores Ghost's journey of self-discovery as he learns to channel his anger, develop empathy, and find his place on the team, all while confronting his past and striving to be a better person.
The novel follows the family in their daily lives in Flint and on their journey to see their grandmother in Birmingham, Alabama. Upon their arrival in Birmingham, they are confronted with the reality of the Civil Rights Movement in the South in 1963.
Jason, a seemingly ordinary boy in a seemingly ordinary town, discovers he's part of an alien race that has infiltrated Earth. He learns his town, Billington, is a colony of extraterrestrial families who are preparing for a failed invasion. When a friend's death reveals a hidden truth about these "Warrior-Fools," Jason must confront his own identity and choose between his alien origins and his human life.
