My name is Kim Terry. This is my second year teaching Preschool Special Education at Dunbar CDC. Before Dunbar, I was at Northwest Crescent CDC where I also taught Preschool Special Ed. I started working in Greenville County Schools as an ABA Therapy Aide in 2006. I worked with the district until 2013 and then my Husband’s work took us away from the area for a few years. I was so glad to get back to the Upstate, and to join the GCS family once again as a Special Ed teacher.
I am a graduate of the University of NC-Asheville, and I am a mountain girl. (the Upstate is close enough). My husband Chris and I have two children. Our beautiful daughter Megan is married to our hilarious son-in-law Jesse and they have a kind-hearted, energetic 7 year-old daughter named Avery and a spunky, sweet little 2 year old grandson named Camden (better known among my family members as "Cam") My also hilarious son Dustin and his sweet wife Baleigh also have 2 little girls, a funny, dancing 4 year-old named Ella and her sweet little sister who is just turning 2, named Everleigh (we call her Evie). Baby Emersyn will be arrivng at the end of September!
In my spare time, I love spending time with my family the most. We love going to the beach, playing games and watching football, and just watching the little ones play and enjoy their "people". I also love working puzzles and watching movies.
I am so happy to be able to work with your child this year. I love the opportunity to be one of your child’s first teachers and show them how exciting learning can be. I love helping them fall in love with being at school, and to help them learn that they are an important part of a group (Our "School Family"). This is a very important time for a young child and I thank you for letting me be a part of it!
