The expectations, rules, procedures and consequences of the classroom are to keep the classroom safe, orderly and productive, and I expect all students to strive to make good choices each day. The students and I will develop a class set of rules during the first week of school. I use Conscious Discipline in the classroom to foster the child’s emotional development. We will work together in all aspects of our classroom because we are a classroom family who loves and supports each other. The children will be actively involved in solving many of the day-to-day problems we encounter in our classroom. Conscious Discipline individualizes discipline depending on the problem and the student, so parents will not get a daily behavior report unless it is something that we decide is necessary for the student’s best interest. I will always call/email/send a note if there is an issue or concern that needs to be discussed. No news is good news!

I utilize a positive reinforcement behavior plan where students can earn individual and class rewards.  Individually they will earn and cash in cubes for a prize of their choice.  As a class, they will earn stars for whole group successes.  Once a class-set, predetermined goal is reached, the class will earn a reward. We will decide on as a class family what we want that reward to be.
