Conscious Discipline

We will be using conscious discipline in our school for behavior. We will discuss behavior as safe or unsafe. Every student will have a job of keeping themselves and their classmates. We will explain that our job as teachers is to keep them safe. This is to build our school family in the classroom.

The other component is the safe place in the classroom. Students can go to this place when they are feeling a certain way and use the strategies they will learn. In addition, they will learn four breathing strategies that can also be used in the safe place.
