Mr Johnston earned a Bachelor of Music degree in violin performance from the Blair School of Music at Vanderbilt University and a Master's Degree in Music Education from North Greenville University. He currently teaches orchestra at Greenville HS and is also a violinist in the Greenville Symphony Orchestra, as well as serving on the Orchestra Players Committe and the Symphony Board. He has taught in Greenville County Schools since 2001 and received his National Board Certification in 2006. His wife, Jennifer, is an English teacher at the Charles Townes Center. His son Jameson, a future Red Raider, plays piano and cello in the League Academy Orchestra.
