It is a pleasure to work with your child. Please help me by doing the items listed below.
K5 Parents :
Please practice naming the alphabet letters. Look for them everywhere you go. Ask your child to tell you the letters on the name of a building, sign, or package of food.
Your child will be learning the alphabet letter sounds. There is a motion for the sounds to help them remember it easier. Ask them what the motions are.
Please count orally with your child every day. Count from 1 to 100 together, then ask your child to count on their own.
Practice counting 1 to 1 with your child. Have them count cereal, rocks, leaves, etc. . . all the way up to 20 items.
1st Grade Parents:
Please listen to your child read every night! If your child isn't reading yet, practice the alphabet letters and sounds.
Please practice grade level sight words with your child each week.
Please count orally with your child every day. Count from 1 to 120 together, then ask your child to count on their own.
Practice counting 1 to 1 with your child. Have them count cereal, rocks, leaves, etc. . . all the way up to 30 items.
2nd Grade Parents:
Please listen to your child read every night and practice grade level sight words with them.
Please count orally with your child every day. Count from 100 to 200 together, then ask your child to count backwards from 50 to 0.
Practice math daily with flashcards for single digit addition problems up to 18.
3rd Grade Parents:
Please listen to your child read every night and ask them two questions about what they read.
Practice multiplication flashcards for facts 0 - 12. Students are expected to master these facts.
Allow your child to go onto IXL https://www.ixl.com/signin/mountvies and practice their multiplication facts online nightly.
4th & 5th Grade Parents:
