What to expect in French classes:
1. With levels 2 and up, there will be a weekly assignment on the free phone app, DuoLingo. French 1 will begin this assignment later in the first quarter. Students are asked to complete 5 lessons (usually about 10 minutes of practice) during a 5 day school week. These grades are posted at the end of each week.
2. Students may not have a specific homework or task to do each day (worksheet, assignment, etc.), but there is definitely homework every day. This daily "homework" expectation is to study or review. If we do not have a specific assignment for homework, students are expected to at least go over the daily presentation to keep our class progress.
3. There will be a daily lesson or presentation, usually a Google Slides presentation. This presentation will be posted in Google Classroom. If a student is absent, they still have the ability to keep up with what we do each day in class.
4. In the majority of full (5 day weeks, not short weeks with a holiday or student day off) there will be a second weekly assignment called Video of the Week (French 1 will begin this later in quarter 1). Students have 5 days to watch a video (posted online) and complete a short summary exercise.
5. Other daily expectations and procedures can be viewed here: Procedures
