Hello! My name is Jason Kessler, and I’m excited to be your child’s teacher this year.
I graduated from Stockton University with a degree in hospitality. Before becoming a teacher, I worked in hospitality, food service, hotel sales, and commercial furniture sales. Those experiences taught me a lot about communication, teamwork, organization, problem-solving, and helping others. These are skills I now hope to pass along to my students.
In our classroom, students will work on reading, writing, functional math, science, social studies, communication, and social-emotional skills. We will also focus on practical life skills through cooking activities, classroom jobs, handling classroom money, following directions, working as a team, and completing responsibilities. My goal is to help students become more confident and independent while building skills that can prepare them for future career opportunities and employment.
Outside of school, I enjoy playing golf, cooking, exercising, spending time on the water, and being with my family and friends. My dogs, Julia and Dolly, are also a big part of my life.
I’m a big sports fan. My favorite teams are the New York Yankees, New York Giants, New Jersey Devils, and the Clemson Tigers.
I believe students do not have to be perfect, but they do need to try. I’m looking forward to learning more about each student, celebrating their progress, and having a great school year together!
