As you participate in each session, please reflect on what you learned. How will it help you as you work with students this year. How will it impact you personally as you consider becoming a teacher. Yo, ever wonder if AI is lowkey taking over... or just tryna help you write that essay at 2am? Pull up to this sigma-level session where we spill the digital tea on how generative AI (like ChatGPT) actually works. We’re talkin' data, bias, and all the sus stuff AI picks up from the internet. You’ll play games, call out the cringe, and flex your brain power to outsmart the bots. No cap — you’ll walk out knowing how to use AI like a pro AND see the red flags. Future teachers, this is your chance to level up. Bruh, don’t get caught lacking 👀
This session will provide a Q&A opportunity for anyone interested in coaching while they teach. What is the process? What are the expectations? How do we balance it all? Here from a panel of former and current coaches and athletic directors who will share advice and answer questions about what it trulymeans to coach, teach and lead!
There is a classroom library full of books...but how do we get kids to read them??? This session will give you strategies to create a book frenzy that will have your students reaching for books and wanting more!
This session will look at the 4 C’s of gaming:
Choice – providing choices, options, pathways
Clarity – knowing where you stand, competition, digital badging
Collaboration – working with a team towards a goal – we play a team game using Blooket or Gimkit
Celebration – taking time to celebrate class goals
We will share games to highlight the 4 C’s in a no-tech environment and have a great time all around!
What does it really feel like to start college while dreaming of becoming a teacher? Joey Muolo, a Mauldin High School alum and senior at the University of South Carolina, shares his journey navigating the ups and downs of college life while preparing for a career in education. Having spent over two years assisting students with their own college transitions and gaining experience as a student intern with Public Education Partners, Joey offers a relatable and insightful perspective on becoming a future educator. With plans to return to Greenville County Schools as a teacher within the next year, he provides guidance on how to discover your Future Teacher Self.
It's more than arts and crafts! We know that there are many benefits to allowing students to "make" in their classrooms - everything from brain breaks to providing choice for students to show/apply their learning. Have some fun and learn about how to incorporate a makerspace in your classroom!.
In this sessions participants will discover the power of place value across all elementary levels. They will participate in hands-on activites in various stations to sort, count, decompose, rebuild, compare, add, subtract and develop a true understanding of how to use manipulatives to teach place value at every level.

Take a "behind the scenes tour" of Roper Mountain. Explore the observatory and see an historical piece of equipment. Take a stroll with the dinosaurs and visit the butterfly garden. Visit Harrison Hall where you can pet the sea creatures in the marine lab, walk through the rainforest and visit with the reptiles, fish and other fun creatures. Hear stories about what makes Roper Mountain unique and how learning & imagination are sparked at every turn

September 15 is International Dot Day. This fun, artsy, crafty session will share with you fun lessons and activities that revolve around the book, The Dot by Peter Reynolds. You have your own copy of the book, this session will show you how to teach with it! Take back some great ideas to use in your field placement classroom on Sep 15.

In this session, explore a variety of stations that provide fun, interactive materials to create brain break, relaxation & meditation stations. Brain dump! - and give yourself a break! Leave with some fun examples of how you can apply these stations in your field placement classroom.
This session will allow you to participate in some yoga stretches and exercises that are great in the classroom!
