Expectations

Level 1 students (first year) - Installation of a HVAC system in a mock house (attic or crawl space). Electrical board, OSHA 10 hrs, Microburst Learning, EPA 608 Refrigerant Handling

Level 2 students (second year) - Refrigeration systems and troubleshooting HVAC systems. NATE - Industry Competencies Exam (ICE), ESCO - Employment Ready

9th grade students - Sheet metal & copper & ferrous pipe & electrical & miscellaneous projects.

The regular use of heat, air conditioning and refrigeration conveniences in the United States produces a demand for skilled Technicians to install and repair equipment in homes, offices, factories, warehouses, stores and restaurants. The country's diverse climate makes employment in the Heating/Air Conditioning and Refrigeration field attainable in virtually any area students may ultimately reside.

Graduates of GSCC HVAC/R course of study are able to continue their education at Greenville Technical College or a college or specialty school of their choosing.

Graduates are equipped with enough knowledge and certifications for a career right out of school. Majority of company’s provide training and pay for continuing education.
