Hey Parents!

The Individual Graduation Plan Process:  The IGP is intended to guide the student like a road map towards the future. 

During the meeting, we will cover several topics:

●  Your child’s career interest survey and aptitude results

●  Your child’s current grades, classes, and GPA

●  High School registration information and recommendations

●  Your child’s academic, career, and personal goals

●  The application process for magnet, special programs, and other high school (if applicable)

The State of South Carolina requires that schools have an IGP meeting with all 8th- 12th graders. The goal of these meetings is for students to develop a plan for the their desired career and life goals. Every 8th grade student needs to have an IGP meeting with a school counselor and their parent. This is an opportunity to hear what your child wants their future to look like!

You will receive an email with your IGP date and time. If you cannot come on the assigned time, there will be a way to let us know and we will happily reschedule your time. IGPs are scheduled based on the high school that the student is zoned for. You will get a notification of the specific date and time for your student's IGP. 

The general timeline for IGPs is:

Carolina High- September

Southside High- October, November, December

Other High Schools- January

Greenville High- January, February

We understand that since we are a magnet school, a large part of the 8th grade wants to apply to a High School magnet program. It is extremely important for 8th graders who want to attend a magnet programs to apply in the first round magnet window. Therefore, if you are interested in a magnet program, please respond to your invitation to reschedule or call and request an IGP in the fall.
