The mission of the School Counseling Department is to provide a comprehensive, developmentally appropriate program that supports the academic, career, and social/emotional growth of all students. Through collaboration with educators, families, and the community, we ensure equitable access to opportunities that recognize the unique needs of middle school learners as they transition from childhood to adolescence. Our commitment is to empower every student with the skills, knowledge, and mindsets necessary to achieve personal excellence, explore their interests, and prepare for success in high school, postsecondary education, and beyond.
The vision of the Hughes Academy School Counseling Department is that all middle school students will grow as confident, compassionate, and growth-minded learners who embrace diversity, build positive relationships, and develop the skills needed to successfully navigate adolescence. Our students will be prepared to transition into high school with resilience, a strong sense of self, and the academic, career, and social/emotional foundations necessary to thrive in their future endeavors and contribute positively to their communities.
Keeping you and our community healthy and safe, as well as maintaining mental well-being, have always been and remain our top priorities.
