Mrs. Groome

I knew from an early age that I wanted to work with children. I graduated from Converse College in 1999 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education and a Bachelor of Science degree in Sociology. In 2004, I completed my Master's degree in Education from Clemson University, focusing on School Counseling. In 2012, I received my certification as a Career Development Facilitator. I also serve on the school district’s SEL Team, Crisis Team, and as an evaluator and mentor for new school counselors across the district. I also enjoy supervising counseling graduate students for multiple graduate school counseling programs. I was recognized as the  2022 South Carolina Middle School Counselor of the Year, which was a great honor. 

It is an honor to work at a school where there is such a wealth of teaching talent, wonderful parents, and a dedication to children. 

I live in Simpsonville with my husband, Kirk, and our sons Jacob, Joseph, and Jackson, along with our miniature schnauzer, Sampson, and our cat, Penelope. I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, as well as vacationing at the lake and on the beach.
