Virtual School Courses
SUPPLEMENTAL PROGRAMS
GCS Virtual School Program (GCVSP) is Greenville County School's district online program available to students in grades 7 through 12. GCVSP courses require students pay a fee for the summer term.
South Carolina's virtual program (VirtualSC) is available to GCS students in grades 9 through 12. All VirtualSC courses are free since the program is provided by the State.
Neither program is a school or diploma-granting institution so students do not attend full-time. Students can take one or two courses to get ahead, to repeat courses or to provide flexibility in their schedule at their brick/mortar school, but they must be enrolled in a regular school to participate in the online program. FULL TIME VIRTUAL PROGRAMS
In the fall of 2020, GCS added a new full-time virtual option for students in grades 5K-12. Students must be enrolled in a GCS school in order to participate. In this program, students interact with certified GCS teachers daily during live Google Meet Sessions and receive timely teacher feedback in response to class or homework. Teachers experienced in online platforms and virtual instruction will teach and engage students through live and recorded lessons and tutorials.
