Tomorrow's Rainbow: Bereavement support groups and equine (horse) therapy for children who have experienced death or significant loss ages 3-19 and their caregivers across Upstate SC but located right in TR.
Foothills Family Resources: A wealth of resources including food pantry, WIC support, SNAP assistance, financial counseling, job placement, and more for families in need located in Slater/Marietta right down the road from Heritage.
Mom's Matter (Fostering Great Ideas): Moms Matter is a program of FGI focused on supporting moms who are involved with DSS or at risk of losing their children. They offer an online support group, in-person individual counseling and support group (held at Foothills in Slater/Marietta), and a parenting course. The program is run with a peer support mindset to empower moms to not feel alone. Contact Dena Garzone through the website with questions or to get started.
Therapist Referrals in/near TR:
Children's Medical Center Counseling: Counseling is offered at Children's Medical Center, a pediatrician office on State Park Rd. in TR. Same day appointments are available. Call 864-743-8444 to see if you qualify for services.
Travelers Rest Counseling Associates: This group practice offers a robust team of skilled therapists in TR to meet a variety of clinical needs. They do not accept insurance but sliding scale is available and you need to contact the practice to learn more.
Heritage Institute: A group therapy practice that functions as a non-profit for emerging therapists, located in TR. Contact the practice to learn about openings, costs/insurance, and availability.
Greenville Mental Health: One to two DMH therapists work out of a branch housed in Slater/Marietta and they serve children and families. Call the main line (864-241-1040) to schedule an appointment with Sandra Moffitt.
New Horizon Family Health Services: Primary care medical providers as well as therapists are located right next to Heritage. They offer sliding scale fees. Call to learn more about availability and pricing.
Bloom Therapy Center: A large group therapy practice with the main location in Berea off of White Horse Rd. They specialize in behavioral therapy for young children but also offer a wide range of services. The waitlist can be long and after school appointments may be harder to get but they accept most insurances. Call to learn more.
Psychiatric Medicine Recommendations:
Start by talking to your child's pediatrician. If your child is a current client with me, I am happy to provide a letter with a summary of services and diagnosis for you to take with you. If not, they can do their own assessment and evaluation.
