About Your Teacher
I am very excited to be your child's MLL teacher! I received my M.Ed. in Elementary Education from Converse College and I taught 1st, 2nd and 4th grades at Mauldin Elementary School. I then stayed at home with my 2 children, Andrew and Abigail for several years. During that time our family moved to France (for my husband's job) for 5 years. I had the unique experience of learning a new language and seeing my children learn a new language! I know how hard it can be to adjust to a new place and language!
I earned my ESOL teaching certificate in 2017. I have been teaching students at the middle school level and elementary level since obtaining my certificate. I am excited to be teaching full time at Robert E. Cashion Elementary this year. I will continue to teach Multilingual language learners English and I will also teach some reading intervention.
I have some knowledge of Spanish; I can understand and read more than I can speak! I also know some French after living there. I love to read, learn and travel. I love my job because I can combine my interests with my job--- I love learning about other cultures and helping people adjust to a new environment.
