Mr. Torbert’s Rules, Procedures, and Expectations
1 Rule
If what you are doing interferes with learning, hurts someone’s heart, or prevents you from being your best self, you shouldn’t be doing it.
Procedures and Expectations
Treat others better than you expect to be treated.
Behave better for subs than I expect you to behave for me.
In emergencies, be silent and follow all directions immediately.
Give all messages to parents promptly.
Give all messages from parents to teachers promptly.
Bathe everyday and wear deodorant.
No spraying body spray or cologne in class.
Sit in your assigned seat unless you receive permission to change seats.
Leave furniture in place and do not rock in your desk or chair.
Clean the classroom before you leave.
The bell/clock does not dismiss class; I dismiss class.
When traveling as a class, keep up, keep quiet, and keep hands and feet to yourself.
If you leave class independently, quickly go where you are supposed to go and return to class without unauthorized stops.
Remain seated until you receive permission to get up.
Put your name on all of your work.
Do your best work on all assignments.
Participate in class appropriately.
Bring all supplies to class daily.
Return borrowed supplies.
Use supplies appropriately.
Answer verbal questions with audible responses using complete words.
Say “please” when asking others for something.
Thank others when they do something for you.
Place all trash in a trash can.
Write on paper, not body parts, clothes, or school property.
When the intercom comes on, get silent immediately, remain silent, and listen.
When in doubt, ask questions.
When possible, participate in school spirit days.
Be honest at all times.
If I am disciplining another student, do not get involved.
If the smell in the room is not good for you let me know.
If you are absent, it is your responsibility to find out what you missed.
When signals are used to get your attention, respond appropriately.
Know your audience and read the room.
