I was born in Sumter, South Carolina and moved around a lot as an “Army Brat” until my dad retired in Spartanburg when I was in 9th grade. I am a graduate of Dorman High School in Spartanburg, class of 1997. I went on to college in Hickory NC at Lenoir-Rhyne College. I received my B.A. in Physical Education and Health preK-12 in 2001. I started playing soccer in elementary school and was fortunate enough to play 4 years at Dorman at the Varsity level and 4 years at the Division II college level at Lenoir-Rhyne. After graduating college I began my teaching career in Catawba County Schools in Maiden NC. I taught Middle School Physical Ed. and Health and continued my involvement in soccer by coaching at the Middle school and at the High School level. In 2008 I moved back home to Spartanburg and taught at Sterling School for 13 years. Also during that time I coached the Greenville Tech Charter High Girls Soccer team for 8 years. I also earned Master’s Degrees in Professional Counseling, and Athletic Administration/Coaching.
I am a Health Educator for Greenville County Schools and a Virtual PE Teacher for GCVSP. As a Health Educator I teach Sexual Health and Responsibility for High School and Human Growth and Development for 5th Grade. This position has me traveling all of the county and teaching these lessons in a different school every day. In the GCVSP I teach PE/Health for Middle School and PE 1 for High School.
Outside of school I enjoy working out, doing jigsaw puzzles, listening to audiobooks, and spending time with my husband and our children. We LOVE to travel so we are always searching for new and exciting places to go!!
