To assign ML services, you will work within the groups that you created.
Select one of your groups.
Click the checkbox each student's name that is receiving that service.
Click Edit, then Assign ML Services.
Fill in the relevant information (school year, year/semester, then click Next.
Select the service. Don't forget to write your name! Click Assign ML Services.
To determine what accommodations students will need, I use the following format:
ask the student if they want access to a bilingual dictionary or not
look at their class schedule in backpack as well as their most recent language proficiency scores in Enrich; choose the accommodations they will need to be successful in their classes
if a student is SLIFE, give them more accommodations than others
if a student is using a bilingual dictionary and/or still translates text to assist with processing, give them extra time (if the test is timed)
The PNLs that you will create for the various students are listed below:
Newly identified students: Placement in ML program
Returning class period, co-taught, and consultative students: Continuation of ML program
Monitored students: Reclassification to first-year, second-year, third-year, or fourth-year monitoring status (tip: add the field "English Language Proficiency Code" to see their M1-M4 level)
