Spanish 2 Honors

This honors-level Spanish II course builds on beginner skills to develop stronger communicative ability in listening, speaking, reading and writing. Students will expand vocabulary, deepen cultural understanding, and use more complex grammatical structures to discuss identity, daily life, health, childhood, and community participation. Emphasis is on real-world tasks, short presentations, and cultural comparisons. Assessment includes formative checks, projects, presentations, quizzes, and a unit exam.

In high school, students are prohibited from utilizing personal electronic devices and accessories during the school day (8:45 a.m. to 3:45 p.m.) with the exception that schools are permitted to develop time outside of the classroom, such as during and adjacent to lunch, that students can utilize the devices if that use is in furtherance of instruction and school activities.  For violations of this policy, students will be referred to administration.

HEADPHONES/EARBUDS are included in the cell phone policy.

BackPack - This site provides students with a central place for their information, grades, lunch balances, applying to Special Focus Schools/Programs, and more.

Spanish Dict - This site can be used to practice look up words as a translation dictionary and its very accurate.

Word Reference - This site is an alternative to be used as a bilingual English/Spanish dictionary.

Quizlet - This site will be used to practice, practice, practice our vocabulary.

Spanish Listening - This site has short videos with written dialogue of people from around the world speaking Spanish. 

BBC Languages - This site includes "Mi Vida Loca" and other practice activities. 

News in Slow Spanish - This site has current news stories that are read out loud to practice listening skills. 

Coffee Break Spanish Podcast - This site allow you to download free podcasts about grammar and vocabulary basics.

QUIA – This site lets you search by topic. It includes JAVA games, flashcards, pop-ups, and memory to name a few. 

SpanishSpanish – This site allows you to search by vocabulary topic and use interactive flashcards. 

T.P. Duggan PowerPoints – This site contains PowerPoints that can be used to reinforce notes or review topics presented in class. 

Learn Spanish – This site allows you to practice all types of Spanish vocabulary. 

Study Spanish – This site has both grammar and vocabulary practice. 

Super Spanish Websites – This site has at least 100 links to everything imaginable for Spanish help.
