Spanish I

Course Description

The aim of this course is for students to become interested in learning a second language and to develop proficiency to at least novice high-level. By the end of the course, students should be able to use some basic phrases in Spanish and be able to participate and interact in the target language using memorized phrases and short sentences. Students will begin to develop competency in listening, speaking, reading, and writing on a variety of thematic units. Students will be introduced to Spanish-speaking countries and their cultures.

BBC Languages - This site includes "Mi Vida Loca" and other practice activities. 

News in Slow Spanish - This site has current news stories that are read out loud to practice listening skills. 

Coffee Break Spanish Podcast - This site allow you to download free podcasts about grammar and vocabulary basics.

QUIA – This site lets you search by topic. It includes JAVA games, flashcards, pop-ups, and memory to name a few. 

SpanishSpanish – This site allows you to search by vocabulary topic and use interactive flashcards. 

T.P. Duggan PowerPoints – This site contains PowerPoints that can be used to reinforce notes or review topics presented in class.
